Frequently Asked Questions

WHO STANDS BEHIND MY NEW ALL AMERICAN HOME?  All American Homes and Horizon Homes offer a first-year warranty on the home, and a 10-year homeowners structural warranty program is provided with every new home we sell. Additionally, many of the name brand components used in the All American Home are warranted under a separate manufacturers warranty, backed by some of the strongest companies in the United States.

CAN I DESIGN MY OWN HOME?  Yes, to a certain extent. All American Homes will allow the client quite a bit of flexibility in customizing their own home, so long as it starts from a basic All American floor plan, and the State of Indiana will approve its being built. Depending on the number or style of changes desired, there may be an additional charge of $2,000.00 for extra engineering work, and submittal to the state for approval to build.

WHO DO WE TALK WITH ABOUT AN ALL AMERICAN HOME?  Horizon Homes is an independent builder for All American Homes of Indiana. We are a family-owned and family-run business, with the knowledge and expertise to get you what you want in your new home, while offering a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. With a no-pressure sales philosophy and a non-commissioned sales staff, we can offer you the caring and enthusiasm of all our staff.  Horizon Homes is a fully-staffed contracting firm, and can give you the advantage of an in-house general contractor, by not having to hassle with finding or worrying about unknown contractors or sub-contractors. We can offer the convenience of additional work, such as excavation, foundations or basements, gas heat and central air systems, porches, decks, garages, outbuildings, etc., with the assurance that all the work on your new home is being taken care of by experienced, knowledgeable, and helpful construction teams. When dealing with such a large, important purchase, it is always best to have expert advice.

OTHER INFORMATION:  Construction of an All American Home begins indoors - in a climate-controlled environment where problems such as weather delays, subcontractor no-shows, and vandalism are virtually nonexistent. In fact, because construction is performed indoors without the threat of setbacks due to weather and other hazards of on-site construction, an All American home can often be completed and delivered to your site in as little as ten to twelve weeks. Due to the fact that the home must be transported to your site, then lifted with a crane and set on the foundation, your All American Home may actually be a stronger, better-built home than one constructed on-site.

Before you make a final decision on whether to build in a traditional manner, you owe it to yourself to talk with the staff at Horizon Homes.  We'll be happy to give you more information on a particular home, take you through the model home, or set up a factory tour of the All American Homes plant in Decatur, Indiana, where you can watch the actual building process from start to finish.
